Keep your Les Bons Cheveux extensions looking and feeling their best with a little extra care.
The development process centered on the details: how the hair blends, how it moves, and how shades work together. From foundational shades to blondes, brunettes, and coppers, our collections offer colors designed to be worn individually or combined for a personalized blend.
Use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo and wash in downward motions without rubbing or tangling the hair. Rinse thoroughly and apply conditioner from the mid-lengths to the ends, keeping it away from attachment points.
Gently squeeze out excess water and pat dry with a towel. Dry your roots and attachment points completely, and never sleep with wet extensions.
Apply heat protectant before styling, use the lowest effective heat setting, and keep hot tools away from attachment points.
Apply a lightweight leave-in conditioner or hair oil to the mid-lengths and ends as needed. Avoid applying oils directly to the attachments.
Gently detangle and secure your hair in a loose braid before bed. A silk or satin pillowcase can help reduce friction and tangling.
Chlorine and salt water can cause dryness, tangling, and discoloration. Keep your hair out of the water whenever possible. If it gets wet, rinse promptly with fresh water and follow with gentle washing and conditioning.
Some sunscreens, especially those containing avobenzone or octocrylene, may discolor extensions. Avoid transferring sunscreen onto your hair, including from your shoulders and hands.
Follow your stylist’s recommended maintenance schedule. Have extensions professionally removed, and consult your stylist before coloring, toning, or using purple shampoo.
When custom toning we recommend washing Les Bons Cheveux extensions with a clarifying shampoo before applying toner. Allow the toner to process for up to 10 minutes, checking the color frequently, then rinse thoroughly.
